How to Write a Product Review that Converts into Sales

Writing a Product Review is one of the easiest ways to make money as an Affiliate.

Here are some consumer stats

• 83% of consumers say that product reviews influence their online purchasing decisions
• 70% of online shoppers actively seek out product reviews before they buy
• More than half of US online shoppers surveyed, read user reviews as part of their product research
• Nearly 9 of 10 US online buyers read reviews at least “some of the time” before making a purchase

Its quite obvious from these stats that Product Reviews play a vital part in decision making for a consumer.

There are 6 major elements that go into making the perfect Product Review Page

1. Product Description
2. Proof
3. Buyer Description
4. Images / Videos
5. Criticism
6. Call to Action

A good product review will assist a visitor with their buying decision before you eventually send them on their way to the Merchants web site.

The most success i have had with product reviews is aiming at a visitors needs or wants and convincing them that the product im reviewing is something they could definitely do with.

Lets review the 6 major elements…

Product Description

You need to make sure that you provide enough relative information about the product, this could include size, number of pages (if its an eBook), features, ordering process, benefits, expected results and your specific results.

General consumers are very aware of Scams and its your job to ensure them that the product you are reviewing offers everything you claim. Include your personal thoughts and experiences with the product as this will help you to relate to your reader, i recommend purchasing the product and testing it properly as this will make your review much more in-depth and you will soon make the money back that you spent on it.

Proof

You need to provide proof of the product, proof being that you actually purchased the product and your review is genuinely written by yourself. People can be skeptical of product reviews as the opinion of the product can be very biased and the main aim is to generate a sale. It is your job to convince them that the product is 100% genuine and real results are achievable from purchasing.

Buyer Description

Just who is this product for? and who is it NOT for? All products are not fit for everyone. Be sure to describe an ideal buyer of this product so that your reader can easily decide whether this product is for them or not.

The whole point of a product review is to ensure the right person purchases the right product. If there are two similar products you can always recommend the other one in your review so that you can cater for everyone.

Images / Videos

You must ensure that you provide your readers with either images or videos of the product (preferably both!). This visual aid can dramatically increase your conversion rate, after all who likes to read a wall of text?

The product merchant should have images that you can use in your review but if there is none supplied i recommend you make your own of the product and/or images of you actually using it.

Making a video of the product is a great way to encourage your reader into making a purchase. This video could be you talking about the product, using the product and if the product is physical like hardware you could make a short video of you unpacking it and showing your readers what they get for their money. You can submit these Videos to YouTube for even more traffic!

Criticism

If you notice anything you didn’t like about the product and you include this in your review then this will only add to the believability of the review. Never be afraid of saying things you didn’t like about the product.

Call to Action

This is the most important element of your product review, a Call to Action tells your reader exactly what they need to do next. Make sure you are very specific with what they need to do next. For example:
• Are you Ready? Click here for Ordering Instructions
• Click Here to Download XYZ
• Get the Best Deal on ABC by Ordering from XYZ

Ensure that you check the Landing Page which is the page that you are sending them to before they order, and then make your Call to Action related to key points on that page. This will ensure your reader knows exactly what to expect before clicking through.

Now that you have the 6 major elements in place on your product review page you need to think about SEO

You need to target keywords that people will actually search for online for that specific product.

Examples:
* Starting a ABC Business? Read this
* XYZ Product Review

Its a lot easier to rank on search engines for the product name + review and this is what people will be searching for anyway. As soon as you rank on search engines for those product reviews you will most likely remain there resulting in sales way into the future.
