For some of you, the idea of running your own website and product on the Clickbank Marketplace can be daunting especially if it’s your first time. But realistically it can be both exciting and very finanacially rewarding if you do your research first.
Just remember that all the big Vendors on Clickbank ($10,000,000+ Earnings a Year) all started their products with an idea and over time improved their Pitches, Product and Members Area resulting in a money making machine! Anyone can do it, you could easily be the next big Clickbank Vendor.
Ask yourself the following Questions
1. What Niche?
You need to identify which Niche your Product will cater for and you can do this by simply browsing the Clickbank Marketplace
The following Niches are extremely Saturated and very competitive. If this is your first Clickbank Product then i recommend you avoid them.
* Weight Loss / Body Building
* Green Energy / Green Products
* Making Money / E-Business
2. Create or Outsource?
I recommend doing your research on a Niche that interests you and spend many weeks writing an eBook (this is what i do). However realistically most of us don’t have the time to research a Niche and write a high quality eBook so outsourcing work is a great solution and it will give you time to work on your website’s Pitch and Members Area.
The following websites are ones which i use to outsource work on many of my current and future Projects.
Do not feel that outsourcing work is cheating because i guarantee that 70%+ Vendors on Clickbank will use websites like Elance to get their eBook and in some cases whole websites made as it saves so much time. If you end up outsourcing work from Elance or Guru make sure you only award jobs to people with good feedback.
3. Mailing Lists?
YES! I recommend you create both an Affiliate and “Potential Customer” Mailing List.
The easiest way to create a Mailing List is by using Aweber
Affiliate Mailing List
If you create an Affiliate Mailing List you will have a good idea of who is actively promoting your Product. You can simply drip feed them different promotional angles and tools to help in their campaigns which helps increase sales dramatically.
“Potential Customer” Mailing List
This is extremely important, you need to create a Mailing List of people who visit your website but then choose to leave and you can do this with Exit Splash which is an extremely powerful on-exit Splash Popup. Once you have your Mailing List setup i recommend you create 5-10 Followup Messages which get mailed out every 24 Hours with reasons why your Product is something that your subscribers “need”.
4. How much Promotional Content?
As much as you can possibly create is the simple answer to this question. The more Autoresponders, Banners, Articles and PPC Campaigns you create will encourage active promotion of your Product as the “hard work” (so to speak) has already been done and all an Affiliate has to do is use and promote.
Once again you can use Elance and Guru to outsource promotioanl content as there are some very talented graphics designers and writers on these websites.
I hope that the above helps you in your Clickbank Vendor journey. I will write a followup post to this which will go into more detail regarding Clickbank and will include the actual setting up of your account.
Good Luck!
Nick
