Been a while since i posted on here so apologies for that but i have been working very hard on a new social networking website that im launching this year and that on top of a huge tax bill i have just had to pay meant i had minimal time to post.

I thought id list 5 free websites which i find extremely useful for any projects im working on and all of which have helped either save money or benefited me in one way or another!

In no particular order…

1. Yahoo Smush.It

This is a website i started using this year after a friend recommended it to me and its fantastic! To put it simply it compresses your images by removing unecessary “bytes”. I used this website to optimize all the images on one of my larger blogs (30,000 hits a day) and it substantially reduced loading time and cut down my bandwidth costs and it’s completely FREE!

2. Mavenlink

I had no idea about this website until i payed a company to create me a full website and they used Mavenlink to post updates on their progress and i could comment and suggest things that need improving. This website allowed me to interact directly with the coders and designers for my project which i found extremely useful.

3. AutoPinger

This is a great website that pings all major directories and search engines with the URL entered, so as soon as you get a new website/blog online i suggest you use AutoPinger to speed up the inclusion process for free directories and major search engines.

4. KeywordSpy

This is a website that has made me more money than any other program online. To put it simply, it allows me to quickly research all of the big affiliates on a network such as ClickBank and then i can simply copy ALL of their marketing campaigns in minutes. I suggest you read my How to Beat Your Affiliate Marketing Competition post. This website can be used for free but most of the advanced features are only available for paying customers (like me!).

5. Website Speed Test

I suggest you use this before trying “Yahoo Smush. It” to compare results after you have compressed your images. This is a great free tool that displays how fast your website loads which you should record before tweaking any part of your website to benchmark improvements.

There are many more great free websites out there that offer free services which will benefit any website owner but these listed are certainly websites i use frequently.
